Bullying Prevention Assembly “Buddies Not Bullies” for Gloversville Enlarged School District Elementary Schools

New York School Assembly Presenter  Domino The Great recently presented his assembly program Buddies Not Bullies at Meco Elementary School  & McNab Elementary School in the Gloversville Enlarged School District in Gloversville New York.

One third of boys and over one third of girls report being bullied.  Elementary school age children are especially vulnerable to bullying and rarely report it to teachers or other authority figures for fear of reprisals from the bully.

Buddies Not Bullies  encourages students to treat everyone with respect and also teaches ways of creating teamwork.  Domino uses magic tricks, games, story telling, age appropriate humor, and other fun ways to get his message of tolerance across.

Domino’s program helps schools meet the requirements of New York’s Anti-Bullying law.  Domino would love to share his bullying prevention program with all of the local schools and districts in the area he travels.  For more information, see his “Bullying Prevention Assembly Program Info

“I would highly recommend this experience.”

“This was a high-energy assembly that kept students’ interest throughout. Combining its powerful anti-bullying message with more light-hearted audience participation, Domino the Great’s “Buddies Not Bullies” Assembly was a meaningful investment for our school. I would highly recommend this experience!”

Towamensing Elementary School Celebrates Reading

The PTO (Parent – Teacher Association) for Towamensing Elementary School in Lehighton, Pennsylvania selected “Domino the Great” – a magician with a message of “Read To Succeed” and how books are magical – for their recent school assembly to promote reading in the Read Across America program.

Times News Towamensing Elementary, Lehighton, Pennsylvania

Reporter LINDA KOEHLER wrote in The Times News story pictured above:

“Domino invited Caleb Eitner, Jocelyn Anthony, Deric Sterling and Caleb Strohl to help him perform some magic tricks. Caleb Strohl stole the show with his “dancing moves.”

Domino then told a story about a boy who had never been to a library until one day he went with other boys and girls. One little girl showed him a treasure chest and told him it was filled with gold. Inside the chest were books like “Charlotte’s Web,” a “Tree House” book, “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” and a Junie B. Jones book. But the boy wanted gold. The little girl told him, “Books are gold.”

Domino the Magician told the students,

“Your school library is filled with lots and lots of gold.
Be sure to take advantage of the treasure it holds.”

Stacey Olewine hired Domino and had this to say about his performance:

“Our K-6 Elementary School booked Domino the Great’s “Read to Succeed” program for our Read Across America celebration. Domino more than delivered on his promise of using his magic show to excite and motivate our students to read.

His performance was entertaining, up-beat, and included plenty of audience participation.

Domino geared each assembly toward the grade levels he was presenting to and used magic to illuminate the importance of being a “reader.”  He sent a very strong message to students and staff alike that reading a book is like discovering a treasure with untold riches.

If you are looking for a dynamic entertainer who is able to speak to children on their level about educational issues, Domino the Great is an excellent choice who will not disappoint! In fact, our students were racing to the library to borrow his book just moments after the assembly was over.  I cannot think of a better testimonial than that!”

Pennsylvania Reading School Assemblies – Read Across America Tour – Domino The Great

Child reading Dr SeussWell, the time is near, Friday, March 2nd, Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and celebration of the “NEA Read Across America” program.

Starting on Wednesday, February 29th I will be bringing my “Read to Succeed” extravaganza to selected schools in the Pennsylvania area.  So no matter if your socks are green or pink or blue, celebrating reading is what we are going to do!

Pennsylvania Reading School Assembly Programs will be bringing my funny and interactive program to area schools to introduce the joy of reading and it’s importance.

Listed below are the schools and dates where I will be presenting my reading assembly program:

If you are not familiar with the “NEA Read Across America” program it is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that reaches out to everyone to help provide a call to arms for community reading support.  The celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday marks such a special day of recognition for everyone to join together and encourage reading for our children.

The NEA program provides community members with resources and activities that get everyone excited about reading.  The program also encourages mentors and role models to take their place in supporting and teaching children the importance of reading and the joy it can bring to their lives.

Reading school assemblies like my “Read to Succeed” program I’ll be presenting in Pennsylvania Reading School Assemblies use a variety of performing arts: magic tricks, storytelling, age appropriate humor, audience interaction, and music to entrance the students and show them the wonderful excitement reading can bring to their lives.

Pennsylvania reading school assemblies are being put in place to highlight the importance reading plays in the future of these children, how it can shape their career paths, help them develop their minds and focus on dreams of what they can become.

Reading everyday is something that children learn to do by example.  Helping a child to read, teaching them the enjoyment of reading, sharing with them the adventure that reading can bring to their imagination is something – that will last them a lifetime.

Pennsylvania Reading School Assembly Programs has teamed up with myself, Domino The Great, to bring “Read to Succeed” into area schools, working with the “NEA Read Across America” program so they can share with their students all the terrific energy reading generates.

So pick up a book, celebrate March 2nd in honor of Dr. Seuss, and join me at the Pennsylvania Reading School Assemblies.  Who knows what you might discover, every story brings an adventure unlike the one before it and you might be swept away before you even know it!

He has a great way of getting a great message

Bullying is a HUGE problem as you can see from these bullying statistics. We need to reach every student and get them to understand why bullying is NOT just “kids being kids” – it is dangerous – and parents, teachers, and school administrators CAN stop it.

Read to Succeed ~ Mountain View School ~ Bristol Public Schools ~ Bristol, Connecticut

Few things in life are more important to anyone’s success than the ability to read and understand the written word. Mountain View School provided their students with entertainment that encourages a love of books and reading by having Domino the Great present his ‘Read to Succeed’ Reading Assembly Program.

“Our Principal Loved Your ‘Read To Succeed’ Message!”

Reading School Assemblies Reading Assembly Programs PARP Reading

Sarah A.

Our principal said, “it is always a crap shoot when you book a performer for an assembly – they can have the most interesting web pages, the best comments, or pictures as advertisement and you never really know how they will be until they show up.  He continued by saying that you lived up to everything you promoted.

He loved your Reading To Succeed message! Our Principal also enjoyed the magic and comedy that came along with your show and said that you were a real asset to our school’s theme “Reading Around The World in 180 Days“.

The teachers, also, had wonderful things to say. They all loved the ‘ring game’ and joke or returning it to them without you moving from your space.

The teachers all agreed your message and promotion of the importance of reading was understood and enjoyed by many of the kids in their classrooms.

The parents at PTO were also very happy with you and said that many of their kids came home from school and told them all about you.  The message lasted from early morning until well after school and hopefully longer into the future too.

Domino pushed the importance of reading all throughout the assembly by bringing in many ‘familiar books’ and showing the kids that there is magic in every book. Definitely entices even the youngest to want to go explore different books in the library.

All around, great message, wonderful fun, and we are so happy that we booked you as our first performer of the school year.  Keep up the great work!

- Sarah A., Mountain View School, Bristol, CT

Domino’s presentation was part of the Mountain View School‘s regular reading assemblies. They also hold a Read-a-Thon fundraiser.

It is no surprise that Mountain View would provide their students with reading programs. Here is their school’s theme and what they have to say about reading:

School Theme: “Read Around the World in 180 Days.”

”We know the more we read, the smarter we become…
Thank you for reading each day with your children –
it makes a ‘world’ of difference!

Domino would like to invite the other schools of Bristol, CT to offer his program to encourage reading to their students.  He offers substantial discounts when schools book multiple assemblies on the same day or sequential days. This is a special invitation for all the Bristol Public Schools to contact him about instilling a love of reading in  YOUR students.

BRISTOL PUBLIC SCHOOLS:

Domino does school assembly programs throughout Fairfield County, CT and in many adjoining areas including New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Yorktown Heights, NY were treated to Domino’s new anti-bullying program Buddies not Bullies. Bullying is a much larger problem than most realize as you can clearly see from these bullying statistics:
